How to increase horsepower in a 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3-Liter V-8

Chevy’s new plain talking, no room for attitude Silverado 1500 is the definition of tough. A full sized pick up truck that has an extremely blocky style, sharp corners and straight lines is a must have for any truck owner. Equipped with a powerful, revamped Ecotec3 5.3-liter V-8, the 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 is ready for any challenge you throw at it.

This is what most owners have to say about the Silverado, however, we feel that raw power off the dealers lot is good, but we are always looking for more. If you are an owner of this tough rugged truck then you know what we mean when we say more power is better performance.

Stock off the dealers lot, the 2013 Chevy Silverado 5.3-Liter V-8 produces 355 horsepower and with the revamped 5.3-Liter V-8 Ecotec3 technology, this truck can get up to 23 miles per gallon across the highway. Even with those kinds of number we feel there are ways to increase horsepower yet at the same time increasing the fuel economy.

If you are like us then you enjoy an adventure. The thrill of seeking the unknown, traveling down an abandoned muddy trail. A lot of time, the fear of power loss crosses our mind, thinking to yourself can this truck really travel down this road without leaving me deserted? With the cost of gas that has gone through the roof, it limits our choices when we are ready to hit the open road.

We often think, with 2 extra miles per gallon we could make that trip to the lake house like we did, growing up, with our families. It would be great to relive those moment without the hassle of day-to-day life getting in the way. We here at Shortram think so.

We spent hours searching the internet and have talked with the experts during our quest to find out how to increase horsepower in a truck like the Chevy Silverado 1500. After a few weeks and many hours spent, we can freely share with you how to get that much needed boost in horsepower that will unleash the 5.3-liter’s full potential and increase fuel consumption, freeing you from boundaries that have been set up in place limiting where you can go.

The K&N AirCharger Performance Air Intake System will do just that. What makes this air intake system stand out is the heat shield that is installed to keep the air, being sucked in by the filter, cool to feed your powerful engine. Unlike the restrictive air intake system that comes stock with the truck, the K&N performance AirCharger increases the flow of air to your engine.

More air to the engine means an increase in power that is noticeable when you drive the truck once the air intake is installed. Even better, the K&N air intake makes light work of getting the fresh air to your engine allowing the engine to not work as hard. Less work on the engine means more money in your pocket from the increase in fuel efficiency.

With this performance air intake system you can now go where you want to go, anytime you want to go never having to ever second guess the road ahead again.

Too good to be true, right? We thought the same thing. Some of the things that worried us after learning about the K&N AirCharger Intake System, was the impact this would have on the existing warranty coverage, can an average person install the air intake system and what if the air intake system fails after three months?

Rest easy my friends because we are here to tell you that you have nothing to worry about.

The K&N AirCharger Intake System is backed by a million mile warranty. If that was not enough, in order to void your 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500’s warranty, the manufacturer or dealer has to prove that the air intake caused the mechanical failure that may have occurred to your EcoTec3 5.3-Liter V-8 motor. As far as this installation is concerned, it is so easy to install that in under an hour you will be able to enjoy your newly unleashed power that had been missing from your trucks engine.

The installation starts by removing the stock air intake system. Once removed, install the heat shield along with the air intake tube. To finish the install off, placed the performance air filter on throttle body and tighten everything down.

When you receive this air intake kit you may be overwhelmed, but after you spend some time looking at the manual that comes with the K&N product you will be well on your way installing this air intake system on your motor.
